Consultants
Informatics Consultants will assist with special clinical IT workflow
projects as assigned supporting the Clinical Product Management
team. This Informatics Consultant contract position will assist
Clinical Product Managers to define new products and product enhancements
based on an in-depth understanding of clinical issues and specific
customer needs. CORE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (may vary
and depend on specific project)
-Informatics Consultants will assist the Clinical Product Management
group in developing customized forms for clients clinical
workflow products.
-Informatics Consultants will take broad functional descriptions
and identify key feature sets relative to a clinical care area.
-Informatics Consultants will identify and define database entry
forms and data elements for specific care areas.
-Informatics Consultants will arrange and prioritize data entry
forms with guidance from product managers.
-Informatics Consultants will solicit clinical guidance from hospital
stakeholders to identify reporting and analytic needs within a
care area.
-Informatics Consultants comply with all company policies and
procedures.

Information Specialist - RHIA, RHIT
Codes both inpatient and outpatient medical records by assigning
the appropriate ICD-9 CM and CPT-4 numerical values to diagnoses
and procedures. This information is used to determine the Diagnostic
Related Group (DRG) on each individual episode of care for the
hospital reimbursement and data collection. Retrieves data from
medical records for research projects and performs qualitative
and quantitative analysis. Collaborates, both concurrently and
retrospectively, with physicians, nurses and ancillary department
personnel to ensure appropriate documentation supports the diagnoses
and procedures. Thus, provides educational in-services relating
to coding guidelines and/or coding issues, as necessary.
